Force vs Violence

Force

  • The capacity to do work or cause physical change. Energy, Strength, Active Power.
  • Voluntary action based in morality and Natural Law.
  • Action which one always possesses the Right to take.
  • Does not violate another’s  Natural Law Rights.

Violence

  • The immoral use of physical power (force) to coerce, compel or restrain.
  • Imitation and use of coercive action which is not based in morality and Natural Law.
  • Action which one never possesses the Right to take.
  • Always involves the violation of another’s Natural Law Rights.

Force is always nested in right and violence is always nested in wrong.

We have a right to use any amount of force to put down an attacker trying to cause harm to us.
